Pulpit Rock was starting to glow with the early morning sun, during golden hour after sunrise.

- Photography is more of a passion than a hobby for me these days, and love the excitement that you may just witness something special during a dawn session and capture it for others to see. I specialise in seascapes of our beautiful Dorset coastline and scenic views generally across the county. My work sells at local craft fairs and the feedback I get from people purchasing or just browsing inspires me to stay within my local area, as local people seem to prefer local views. My images are also popular with those who have lived in the county but moved away or know relatives that have moved away and want memories of local landmarks. Thank you to everyone who has viewed this blog and to those who have purchased images and I hope you continue to enjoy. Please also visit my main website at www.mydigitaleye.adsl24.co.uk to view all the images I have available. If you have any questions then feel free to email me at ian.mydigitaleye@gmail.com.

A very grey morning with no colour at all, so shot with B&W in mind. May post images later if I'm happy with anything.

Sunrise on the Rock

Portland Bill this morning was a cloudy start to first light, but produced a quick burst of colour as the sunrise neared it's end, and turned out to be a lovely sunny morning. I counted 15 motorhomes in the car park, which were filled with scout leaders from north London all having breakfast in the Lobster Pot. They were all hire vans... those city scouts really know how to rough it !!!

Andy Rouse, the best Wildlife Photographer the UK has to offer, in my opinion anyway, and I think one of the best in the world, (definitely the funniest) is off to Africa and will be posting live updates from his 3 week Safari. See 'Africa Live!' on his blog. I'll definitely be following.

Durdle Door this time of year is always worth a visit. Windy, but not too cold this morning. Watched a photographer down on the beach mis-judge the waves, that occasionally throw a curved ball at you if you get too close... and he got his feet wet plus tripod.. kept me amused as happens to all of us at some time.

Kimmeridge Bay Sunrise, Dorset - December 2011

Just catching up on some processing from a visit to Kimmeridge before Christmas.
The sun was very harsh and produced a contrasty scene, but quite like the way the sunlight was bouncing off the wet rocks.

Hope you all had a good Christmas and Happy New Year. Here's my first image for 2012, and taken on a quick visit to Kimmeridge as the Sun was setting. Hope this year is a good one.
